CAPTURE THE CASTLE

Totnes Castle is about to have its best makeover in a millennia! 

Join with your queer community and our allies and show your colours in the most visible, bold and important civic moment of the Totnes Pride weekend. 25 flag bearers from our Totnes LGBTQ+ community "invade" the ramparts of Totnes Castle and wrap the full circumference in a 90 metre Pride flag. Be there to loudly cheer them on and be part of a wider community "gatheration" in the castle grounds with music, some brief words from Totnes Pride and our supporters and of course time to be with each other. Let's send a message to our home town and beyond, and affirm to ourselves, that we have always been here and always will be.

LET US KNOW YOU ARE COMING: Registration is free but get in quick! There will be very limited walk in places on the day. Under 18s are welcomed with an accompanying adult.

ENTRY - Through the front gate from 10.00am and no later than 10.30am

BRING - Everyone you know- queer or allies, your flags and banners, a picnic brunch and something hot or cold to drink, a camping chair or rug and your most colourful outfits or accessories. Kids and dogs are welcome if with an adult.

WATCH: - a spectacular and audacious queer community queer art action the like of which has never seen before in Totnes, or anywhere! The castle capture and flag drop is scheduled for circa 10.25 am.
