Home Educator Inspiration Day: English, Maths and Science

Unlock the power of real-world learning with our new inspiration event for home educating families.

Spend a morning at Towneley Hall and discover how this historic house can bring English, Maths and Science to life through hands on, interest led learning. Using Towneley as a case study, you will pick up practical approaches that can be adapted for any heritage site you choose to visit.

Starting with a short presentation, there will then be time to enjoy time to discuss and explore at your own pace. Adults can relax with hot drinks, while children enjoy engaging activities and soft drinks (included in the ticket fee) - creating a welcoming, enjoyable atmosphere for everyone. This event is an ideal opportunity to meet other home educating families and share ideas, as well as benefitting from the knowledge and experience of the Towneley Hall team.

Every attendee will receive a valuable tailored handbook packed with practical ideas, ready to use activities and adaptable frameworks you can build into your learning at home. It’s organised into clear, easy to navigate sections:

• On site learning: Activities, prompts and discussion starters to help you make the most of your visit, whatever your child’s interests.
• ‘Inspired by Towneley’ activities: Simple, flexible tasks to use before or after your visit, designed to deepen understanding back at home.
• Sensory exploration: Guidance on spotting textures, spaces and moments that support sensory seekers and help all learners connect confidently with heritage environments.
