Welcome to the School of Kink for Rope Beginners 2.0!
Are you ready for some NEW classes? We thought so!
Join our team of fabulous rope tutors for a day of learning new skills that will see you wanting to learn more about the basics of rope and all it can bring for creativity, connectivity and downright meanness!
What will happen?
Your day will be jam packed with opportunities to learn new skills, ask questions and practice techniques alongside discovering the joy of rope with those that have knowledge, safety and experience in that area. Each module will have its own dedicated tutor who will guide, encourage and support you on the day to help you learn.
There will be a video on safety and the basics sent to you at least a week before the class, so you have time to practice and learn if you have your own rope. Please book your ticket well in advance to make sure you receive this with time to learn!
Rope School of Kink will run from 10am-5pm, and you are advised to bring your own lunch and snacks as there will be time for refreshments from the bar in between classes. If you do not wish to take part in a class for any reason you may of course sit it out and use the time to practice what you have been shown.
Classes will be small and places are VERY limited so it is advisable to book as soon as you are able. You may come singly (you must be prepared to take turns and work with a partner as needed) or if you prefer to come as a pair, just book two tickets.
Please be aware that you will be asked to work with people you may not know if you come alone in some of the classes - this will be under the supervision and safety of our tutors.
Who is this for?
All are welcome! The classes will include rope safety, basic knowledge and how you can begin a rope journey that you will love for many years to come.
Our tutors run and host other rope events at Townhouse and have many years tying behind them - we love them all very much! The classes are inclusive to all who have a curiosity and wish to learn. Your shape, gender or whether you have visited us before will not stop you making the most out of your day - in fact, we dare you to give it a try!
There will be some practice rope available and we can send out recommendations for anyone wishing to purchase. If you have your own, please feel free to bring it along and discover just what you can do with it :)
There will be a BONUS VIDEO released on consent which you will have access to as part of the School of Kink for you to watch at your leisure. This will talk about safety and negotiation plus what to do to ensure the safety of you and anyone you play with and will cover points you may not have thought about, even if in an established dynamic.
Do I need my own rope?
Nope!
If you have some, great, but we will have some for you to loan, feel and fall in love with before making purchases. All our tutors have fave sellers they like to use and are happy to give recommendations if you need them. Rope preference is not a hard and fast line and this is why we love it so much :)
Tell us about the classes!
Well, we will have a number of subjects for a full day of learning, you may sit out of any class but to make the most of it we would encourage you to participate in them all!
Classes may be subject to change in the event of an emergency, but we will be bringing you ties that have not been taught at the previously ran School of Kink Beginners rope!
There will be time and space for learning, self reflection and a group talk plus we will have the following classes on the day
Ichinawa Essentials: Adaptation and Connection
In this class, we're exploring the beautiful simplicity and versatility of single rope tying. Introducing the hojo cuff as a more accessible alternative to the traditional Takete Kote form. We'll be focusing on adaptation and connection, because rope should work for you, not the other way around.
Pentagram Chest Harnesses
Sometimes we want our rope to look pretty rather than restrict someone, and what better way to get into decorative rope than with making a gorgeous pentagram out of rope on someone's chest?
Self-tying hip harnesses
Class description: This session will introduce you to some functional and versatile lower body harnesses that can be used during solo rope practice. Aiming to give you functional ties that can be adapted to your self tying goals.
Futomomo Leg Tie
A futomomo, or futo for short, is a tie that folds your leg, brings your heel back towards your butt and keeps it there. It can be restrictive, it can be cruel, or it can be a canvas for some beautiful rope. We'll be teaching one very structural futo that's very versatile as part of a scene, and one lovely decorative piece for the more artistic of our students!
See you there for another awesome day of learning!
