OBEY - High Protocol | Absolute Submission
OBEY is a night to celebrate High Protocol, acknowledging total power exchange, rules and ritual. Eyes down, whispered tones, submissive positions, slave furniture… you will see it all. This event allows you to explore protocol in your dynamic and escape the pressures of the outside world, igniting the connection between Dominant and submissive.
Our goal is to create a space where everyone feels comfortable exploring and relishing protocol, in whatever way is significant to you and your dynamic. We welcome all manner of D/s play, including impact, humiliation, degradation and torment. There are differing levels of protocol throughout the building, clearly signposted, allowing you to find your space and embrace your desires.
The Evening
At 6.30pm, our evening begins with a demonstration scene in the Elevation Room. Guests are invited to gather and observe a display of power exchange and ritual to set the tone for the night.
At 7pm, the Live Lounge hosts our High Protocol Poker Game, an interactive ice-breaker open to any Dominant or Submissive wishing to take part. The game serves as an introduction to High Protocol for the curious and a playground for those already fluent in its rituals and dynamics.
- Dominants are invited to play and indulge their inner James Bond fantasy. No knowledge of poker is required. The rules will be explained on the night; all a Dominant need bring is confidence, and the power to command the table.
- Submissives may sign up to provide services throughout the games, such as fetching drinks, shuffling cards, providing massages, or accepting a good-luck beating for those who require encouragement.
All service opportunities are entirely voluntary and consent-based. Submissives may offer as much or as little service as they wish, and all interactions remain subject to individual boundaries and consent from all players.
Play Spaces
- High Protocol The Elevation Room. Our dedicated High Protocol play space for the evening. This room is set up with BDSM equipment for scenes and will have a quiet, subdued atmosphere, allowing guests to immerse themselves in ritual, service and power exchange.
- Medium Protocol The Bar. Courtesy, etiquette, and service are encouraged, allowing for a more relaxed environment than the High Protocol space.
- Low Protocol The Live Lounge/The Courtyard. These are social areas where you can relax, chat, and enjoy the company of fellow guests.
- Aftercare Space The Bunks. A calm and intimate space to perform aftercare and post-scene rituals.
- Private Rooms Sexual play is permitted in the private rooms on the top floor only.
The rest of the play rooms are available for non-sexual kink scenes, with heavier play encouraged in the Dungeon. Guests are asked to respect the protocol level of each space and may move freely between them as their comfort and interests dictate.
On Arrival
We ask our guests to arrive before 7.30pm, and if arriving after 6pn, to please do so quietly to avoid disturbing others who will already be immersed in their protocol.
If you are new to the venue please ensure you have arrived by 6pm so that you can settle in before the opening scene.
Unowned and available submissives are invited to take a wristband on arrival, should they wish to be approached for service or play during the evening.
Dress Code
The dress code is strict to enhance the event's atmosphere. Jeans, trainers, pyjamas, crocs and boxers on their own are not suitable attire for this event.
- Dominant guests: Formal dress, leather, PVC, latex, suits or shirt and tie.
- Submissive guests: We expect submissives to be notably dressed down compared to the Dominants. Think kink wear, lingerie, chastity devices and collars.
If you are unsure, please message in advance, and we will be happy to help.
High Protocol Expectations
For those attending solo or exploring High Protocol for the first time, these guidelines outline our interpretation of protocol at OBEY. We also look forward to seeing your own interpretations of protocol and revelling in the ritual of your connections.
- Submissives are forbidden from speaking without permission from a Dominant in High Protocol Spaces and, when permitted, should speak only in hushed tones.
- Submissives should give way to Dominants in doorways, corridors and on stairs and will not make use of the furniture, unless invited to or in the Low Protocol Spaces.
- Service, including ordering drinks for Dominants, is encouraged within the High and Medium Protocol spaces.
- Should a Dominant be at the bar, service will be prioritised.
- The atmosphere in the protocol spaces, such as the Elevation Room and poker game, should remain calm, respectful and immersive to allow all guests to enjoy the experience.
Please do not bring food or cakes as these will not be shared openly at this event.
Consent and Accommodation
As always, consent is key, and your participation is never mandatory, but we ask that you respect our rules. All boundaries and safe words will be respected.
Any guest requiring an exemption or accommodation to these rules due to a disability or accessibility requirement is encouraged to contact us in advance or on arrival so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

The not so small print......
Names on Ticket - For safety, the name on your ticket MUST match the name on your ID. Please do not use ‘N/A’, a scene name or a pseudonym as this will invalidate your ticket. The only person who will see the name on your ticket is the staff member checking you in. Respect and privacy are important to us. We understand that the name on your ID may not be the name you use.
Times - Doors open at 5:00pm and the venue closes at 11:00pm. First-time guests must arrive by 6:00pm. Established members may arrive up until 6:30pm, when the doors are locked.
Deposit -Everyone is required to pay a £10 bar tab deposit in cash upon arrival. This deposit will be deducted from your final bar bill when you leave.
Consent and Communication
Consent is central at Townhouse. For everyone’s safety, all guests must speak fluent English to discuss boundaries, understand consent, and follow club rules. If we cannot communicate effectively on arrival, entry will be refused and your ticket refunded.
Membership - Membership is £10 per person, paid annually in cash. New couples and single ladies must join on their first visit, unless it is a one-off visit from outside the North West—in which case the visit will be logged. If you return in the future, you will be required to purchase membership. Single guys are not granted membership on their first visit. Please refer to our Membership page for more details.
Gender and Ticketing -Trans women should purchase a single female ticket, not a Gender Diverse ticket. Trans men should purchase a single male ticket. Gender Diverse tickets are only for those with a Gender Diverse membership. We define this as anyone who expresses their gender differently, but does not identify as Trans, (a previous name for this has been TGirl.) Non-binary guests are asked to contact: sarah@townhouseswingers.com to arrange membership.
Couples -We do not allow people to “couple up” just to attend an event together. Couples tickets are for genuine, established couples. Anyone found breaching this rule will have all future tickets cancelled (non-refundable) and their membership suspended. Couples can be of any gender—what matters is that you are in a committed relationship and attending as a genuine couple.
Single Guys - Single guys must attend alone. Groups or pairs of single guys will be refused entry.
ID - We prefer a driving licence for ID, but we also accept: A passport and a recent bill/official letter (electronic format is acceptable). If you do not hold a passport or driving licence, you may bring two official letters/utility bills/bank statements, dated within the last 3 months. Both members of a couple must provide ID if they are not current members.
Cancellations - If you can’t make it, please email us as soon as possible: info@townhouseswingers.com. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable, so only book if you're 100% certain you can attend. If you no-show without informing us before the event begins, you will receive a strike. See our website for details on the 3 strikes rule.
