CANOE TRIP with BBQ lunch on the River Minane (SUNDAY)

Paddle the scenic River Minane in Canadian Canoes guided by fishermen & forager Mick Hoey, who’ll share local foraging wisdom before cooking a wild, riverside lunch. Outdoorsy and memorable.

SUNDAY, 5th July, 10am - 2pm

Meeting place: XL Shop in Minane Bridge

(NOT Tracton Arts & Community Centre)

Fee: €80 (+ booking fee), lunch included

This 4 hour trip (10am-2pm) is restricted to a min. 6 and max. 10 people, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

PLEASE NOTE: Suitable for adults only. However, teenagers from 12 years are allowed if accompanied by an adult. Please meet at the XL Shop in Minane Bridge, bring rain gear and wear wellies! Please provide your phone number after booking (please email: festival@tracton.org)

Mick Hoey lives in Crosshaven. His love, curiosity and exceptional knowledge of the natural world started in early childhood and, after years travelling the world as a deep sea fisherman, he returned home and chose to live his life living off the land; hunting, fishing, growing and foraging for all most of the food he needs.

Mick is now offering you the opportunity to take a leisurely paddle along the little known Minane river. As you meander along this tranquil river way, enjoying the unspoilt flora and fauna of its beautiful riverbanks, Mick will reveal the edible delights on offer and forage for some tasty treats.

The trip will culminate in a delicious riverbank seafood BBQ lunch.
