About the Programme:

The Level 3 , Performing Arts Teaching Assistant Qualification is aimed at Drama Kids' students aged 16 and over. The programme is designed to support our students to become a qualified Drama Kids teaching assistant and gain a level 3 certificate which is the equivalent of an A level. Furthermore, the course can be worth up to 12 UCAS points if passing with a distinction.

Why should I complete the Teaching Assistant in Performing Arts Qualification?

In addition to the accreditation, The programme has been developed to not only meet the assessment criteria, but to also provide those students taking part with an enriched learning experience along with fundamental teaching skills for life.

How does it work?

Once enrolled onto the Performing Arts Teaching Assistant Qualification, Students will need to complete three units across three terms (one unit per term).

The units are:

  • Term 1 - Safe Learning

  • Term 2 - Planning Learning

  • Term 3 - Facilitating Learning

Each unit is made up of a variety of tasks and case studies that need to be completed and support you in order to meet the assessment criteria. Throughout your time completing the Level 3 certificate, you will be mentored by a Principal and/or a Drama Kids Teacher.

The recommended learning hours for each unit is 10 hours per unit with a total qualification time of 40 hours per unit. This means that each unit is easily achievable in a Drama Kids term within your Drama Kids setting, with little work left to do outside lesson time.
