Back for the second year in Merthyr Tydfil. This time a bigger and better covered Ice Rink at 25m x 12.5m plus an additional rink where you can ride our "Ice Bumper Cars".

Frequently Asked Questions
How long do you get to skate?
Each session is 45 minutes long and sessions start on the hour (2pm, 3pm, 4pm and so on). We recommend coming at least 20 minutes before the session time.
Do you have safety equipment?
We supply all skaters with skates, we recommend wearing thick socks while using the skates. Skaters are welcome to bring safety helmets and knee/elbow pads themselves if you would like to wear them on the ice.
Do you provide skating aids on the ice for inexperienced skaters?
Yes, we provide a limited number of dolphins and double-bladed bob skates. Dolphins can be booked online with tickets. Bob Skates are issued on a first come, first-served basis on the day.
Are sessions supervised?
Ice Marshalls are present at the rink during all sessions and you are required to adhere to safe skating guidelines.
Can children skate on their own?
Children over the age of 14 may skate on their own. Children aged between 4 and 14 must be accompanied on the ice and remain supervised by an adult. A maximum of 2 children are allowed on the ice with one responsible adult aged 18 and over. Unfortunately, children under 4 years old are not permitted to skate.
Do I need special clothing?
Bring a thick pair of socks, these will ensure that your feet are comfortable while skating. There will be a selection of gloves, socks, etc. available to purchase on site, subject to availability. The use of helmets, knee pads and elbow pads are optional, but not available at the venue. Trailing clothing is not permitted whilst skating.
Can I bring my camera?
The use of cameras, music players or any hand-held equipment is not permitted whilst skating.
Can I have a drink beforehand?
Persons who in the opinion of the Ice Marshalls and other staff have consumed alcohol or any other substance likely to impair their balance will not be allowed on the rink.
Are the Skating sessions recorded?
Sessions are recorded on CCTV.
Is there a qualified first aid person on site?
There will be first aiders available on site to deal with any accidents/injuries.
Are sessions supervised?
Ice Marshalls are present at the rink during all sessions and you are required to adhere to the safe skating guidelines.
Can you wear normal shoes if you have special needs?
No, unfortunately all skaters need to wear a pair of skates while on the ice.
Is there somewhere to put bags, coats etc?
You will be able to store your personal belongings, handbags, etc. in the boot-room with your footwear. The area is covered by CCTV
Do you post out tickets if I book online?
No, if you book online your tickets are sent to your e-mail address that you specified on your booking.
Do I have to book or can I just turn up?
You can turn up and get a ticket subject to availability, as the rink has a capacity, however if you want to be guaranteed a particular time then we recommend that you book in advance.
If I have booked tickets and can’t make it, what happens?
Our skating tickets are like cinema tickets, there are no exchanges or refunds.
Is it suitable for young children?
The Ice Rink and skates are suitable for children 4 years and upwards who can walk independently. We have a limited amount of skating aids and double-bladed bob-skates available, but suggest you bring your own cycling helmet, gloves and other equipment if you wish.
Do you provide skates?
Skates are provided for all ice users and included in the price.
Are you insured if I fall and injure myself?
This event is fully insured. As this event is an Ice Rink, there is a strong likelihood that you may fall. Patrons are reminded that they skate at their own risk and that we cannot be responsible for injuries sustained as a result of ice skating.
Is there food available at the venue?
There will be food and drinks available for purchase at the venue.
What else is there to do?
The store will be open until 6pm daily (Except Thursdays - Late Night Shopping - Open until 8pm) and 4.30pm on a Sunday. There will be a fairground on site with a selection of rides (you will have to pay for each ride). Santa’s grotto will also be on site. We also have our restaurant, coffee shop, bar and other food outlets available.
Is there an admission fee if I’m not skating?
There is no charge for entry to the event.
Is there parking at the venue?
There is plenty of free parking available on site.
Where do I go when I get to Trago Mills?
The location of the skating rink is in our North Car Park (in front of PlayZone), with the entrance near of coach park.
