THE BIG SPARKLE is back at Trago this year in association with Wellbeing Merthyr.

Q. Where is the event taking place this year? 

A. This year The Big Sparkle will be returning to Trago Mills (CF48 1HT). See Map

Q. Will parking be available at the event? 

A. Yes - there are limited car tickets available for the night. These must be pre booked, before the event. There will be no parking available to purchase on the night. Gates open at 5pm, with last entry at 7:15pm. We recommended arrivals as early as possible to avoid any delay. 

Q. Where is the park and ride located? 

A. The park and ride will be running from Merthyr College (CF48 1AR) and Rhydycar Leisure Village (CF48 1UT).

Q. What times are park and ride operating?

A. The park and ride to event will be from 5pm running until 7pm. Leaving the event, first bus will be approx. 8:30pm with last bus leaving Trago approx. 9:30pm.

Q. What is a car ticket? 

A. Car tickets entitle you to a car parking space at Trago Mills for the night of the event along with entrance for all passengers. 

Q. What is a Park and Ride Ticket?

A. Park and Ride Tickets include parking, at either designated Park and Ride Car parks, free return shuttle bus to Trago Mills, and entry to the event for up to 7 passengers. Park and Ride Tickets can only be redeemed on shuttle bus, and not at main gate.

Q. What is a General Admission Ticket?

A. General Admission tickets are for pedestrian access to Trago Mills site only, with one ticket required per attendee. Please note there will be no vehicle access permitted with these tickets, and no local parking. (Parking enforcement will be in operation on the evening). 

Q. How much are tickets and where can I get them from? 

A. There are 3 ticket types available to purchase in advance this year ( Car £12 | Park & Ride £10 | General Admission £3, plus booking fee) tickets can be purchased online at https://buytickets.at/tragomills. General Admission Tickets will be available on the evening at £5 per person.

Q. What time does the event start? 

A. Entry to the event will be 5pm. Gates will close for the event at 7:15pm. Once the gates are closed you will not be able to leave the event until the fireworks have finished (unless in the event of an emergency). The fireworks display will start at approximately 8pm.

Q. What should I wear to the event? 

A. The Big Sparkle is an open air event which is subject to the elements- please dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day.

Q. Do I have to bring a printed ticket to the event? 

A. Printed tickets or e- tickets on a smart phone will both secure entrance to the event .

Q. Will there be anything else there on the evening? 

A. Yes - as well as our fantastic fireworks display, there will also be a number of food and beverage vendors (including Trago's café & takeaway) and a fun fair!

Q. Can I bring sparklers and fireworks into the event? 

A. No

Q. Can I bring alcohol to the event? 

A. No - this is a family event, and alcohol is not permitted or on sale.

Q. Is there food at the event ? 

A. Yes - there will be food and beverage vendors at the event, including Trago's café.

Q. What time does the event finish? 

A. The firework display lasts approximately 30mins, the event will run until 9:15pm, gates close 9.45pm.

Q. Can I get a refund if I change my mind? 

A. Refunds are not available unless we have to cancel the event for health and safety reasons.

Please note that although there is one Cash Point on site, it may become extremely busy. Some attractions may be cash only, so to avoid disappointment we recommend visitors to bring cash. All Trago outlets and concessions will operate as normal.
