The Zero Waste Food Challenge invites people to join in across 6 topics of the food waste journey; planning, shopping, storing, preparing, consuming & composting.  We've partnered with some fantastic local businesses, people and groups to bring you this 6 week block of fun & creative workshops to help you reduce your food waste, save money and learn some new skills. 

 We recommend booking all 6 of the workshops so as to get the benefit of the whole food waste journey but if you cannot attend every week, you are still welcome to join the challenge and book the individual workshops that work for you.  To secure your place, please book the session(s) you wish to attend.

Week 5 Topic - Consuming

Cooking With Leftovers with Debbie from Highland Homecook

In this workshop, we are focusing on the consumption stage of the food waste journey; how to make the most of the food we have cooked.  Much of our food waste is generated by simply cooking too much, here we will look at ways of using up some of the most commonly wasted foods into tasty new dishes.  Debbie from Highland Homecook is a local cook, baker and author of 2 cookbooks so a great opportunity to learn some fun and simple recipes with her.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE: Unfortunately we cannot accommodate gluten-free cooking at this workshop due to the high risk of contamination.  Toppings for pancakes will be provided but if you any specific dietary requirements or likes please bring some along with you.

Attendance & cancellation: As places are fully funded, please only book a ticket if you know you are able to attend. If your plans change, you must cancel your ticket and let us know with at least 48 hours notice of the event start time so that others can attend.
