TRANS Program

The TRANS Program is a mobile, state-wide, grassroots, non-profit and comprehensive organization that is led by transgender and gender non-conforming (TGNC) people of Mississippi and is missioned to serve transgender and gender non-conforming (TGNC) people of Mississippi.

We focus on strategies that improve understanding of TGNC people, expand ally-ship, reduce discrimination, increase protections and ensure that TGNC people have both their needs met and opportunities to thrive. The Program encompasses activities such as resource expansion and connectivity, public education, direct and general advocacy, community engagement, organizing and coalition building, leadership development, assistance with name and gender marker change, counseling services, a variety of support groups, community activities and more. We dedicate ourselves to a motto of “nothing about us, without us” and ensure that TGNC people lead all aspects of the work we do.

We envision a world where all transgender and gender non-conforming people, regardless of location, intersection, and circumstance can readily access services, opportunities and support while feeling protected, understood and validated in their identity. TGNC people deserve what all people deserve; to have their basic human needs met, be treated with dignity and respect and access opportunities to thrive.
