In this in-person illustrated lecture, Jules McArthur explores how religion and magic transformed in Roman Egypt after the fall of the last pharaoh, Cleopatra. Jules shows how, far from being the end of Egyptian magic, this was one of the most fertile periods in Western magical history. Expect a clear and engaging introduction to the magic of Roman Egypt, the ancestral home of many magical traditions still practised today.

Jules McArthur (they/them) has devoted their life to the study and practice of ancient magic. They have both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Classics, specialising in the Greek Magical Papyri. They are also a professional tarot reader and a long-standing practitioner of magic, appearing on several popular podcasts such as Seeking Witchcraft.
