Foundations of Greco-Egyptian Magic – Online 4-Part Course

Jules McArthur teaches practical Greco-Egyptian magical techniques for modern practice.

In this four-part online course, Jules McArthur draws on sources including the Greek Magical Papyri (PGM) to teach practical Greco-Egyptian magic. Students learn the building blocks of Greco-Egyptian spellcraft, divination, and petitioning deities, before composing spells of their own and exploring a selection of initiatory rites. Students leave the course confident in drawing from these texts in their own practice.

This course runs online on the following Thursdays (7-9pm): 12, 19, 26 Nov & 3 Dec. An optional in-person ritual follows on Sunday 13 Dec (1-5pm). A copy of The Greek Magical Papyri in Translation by Hans Dieter Betz is recommended. 

Jules McArthur (they/them) has devoted their life to the study and practice of ancient magic. As a Wiccan priestex, practising magician, tarot reader and professional Classicist, they combine a rich understanding of the ancient world with long-term experience of working magic. They have both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Classics, specialising in the Greek Magical Papyri. They have also appeared on several popular podcasts such as Seeking Witchcraft.
