Ritual Writing for Solitary Practitioners – Online Workshop

Wed 30 Sep 2026 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM BST Online, Zoom

Bernadette Russell teaches the art of writing solitary rituals attuned to nature.

In this online workshop, Bernadette draws on ancient traditions to guide solitary practitioners through writing rituals, attuned to daily, lunar, and seasonal tides, as well as the spirit of place. Attendees learn how to open and close sacred space and leave with the beginnings of a ritual of their own, ready to finesse at home.

Bernadette Russell is an author and professional storyteller who has studied myth and folklore with Dr Martin Shaw, Sharon Blackie and Jonathan Huet. She is storyteller-in-residence at Lesnes Abbey Woods, where she hosts Rough Magic, a regular seasonal storytelling event. Her work includes performances and writing for organisations such as the Royal Albert Hall, Tate Britain, the Natural History Museum, the National Theatre and the Southbank Centre – though she is most often found telling stories around a fire in the woods.
