Benjamin Stimpson on the witchcraft and folk magic of England's north.
In this in-person talk, Benjamin Stimpson returns to the Treadwell's sofa to explore how the rugged landscape and harsh climate of England's north shaped its witchcraft practices. Expect stories of wisewomen casting dice in market squares, wisemen scrying in mirrors, and protective charms and amulets. Followed by our customary soirée.
Ben Stimpson is a Welsh author and independent folklorist. The host of the podcast Essence with Ben Stimpson, he has spoken at conferences across the UK and North America. Ben’s current focus explores paganism, witchcraft and folk magic.
