Early Gardnerians and Their Objects – Launch & Exhibition

An afternoon of talks and exhibitions exploring the lives and tools of early Wiccans.

In this in-person event, Christina Oakley Harrington and Museum of Witchcraft and Magic (MWM) director Simon Costin bring to light magical objects from Wicca's founding generations. The afternoon marks the launch of a collaborative book between Treadwell's, MWM, and photographer and videographer Christen Goguen. These objects are brought to life through talks, short films, and a small exhibition of artefacts from the museum's collection.

Christina Oakley Harrington is the founder and director of Treadwell's. She is the author of Dreams of Witches. Prior to opening the shop over two decades ago, she was an academic in medieval history.

Simon Costin is the director of the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic in Boscastle. He is also founder/director of the Museum of British Folklore. Professionally, he trained in theatre design and has worked as an art director and curator.

Christen Goguen is an award-winning multimedia producer and videographer. She has received both PRNDI and Edward R. Murrow awards. Professionally, she has worked with WBUR, PBS Newshour, and Harvard University.
