The Shank Trial

CONQUER the WEST EVENT in IDAHO! You don't want to miss riding in beautiful central Idaho! This location offers tons of forested granite as a result of Idaho's huge granite batholith. You'll experience this wonderful rock along with logs of all shapes & sizes, steep ups and downs and everything in between! It is super close to several mountain towns (there's cell service!) with not just trials riding, but mountain biking, golf, water sports, dirt biking, hiking, zip lining...so you can easily make a fun summer vacation out of your visit. There will be camping onsite and hotel options nearby, along with developed campgrounds and RV sites.

**AM/PM Observer Format: Lower classes (NOV-INT) ride in the AM while CBN-EXP observe and vice versa for PM both days. Sunday observers will be primarily, if not exclusively, Idaho riders** 

Area Info: We will ride elevations ranging from ~5,100ft - 5,800ft if this helps with bike jetting, etc. Early August temps are highs ~78-82 degrees with lows in the 40s.

Coordinates to main staging/camping area: 44.88494, -116.01767. PLENTY of room here for larger RVs. Dry camping with port a potties onsite. There are also smaller camping sites throughout the area.

Saturday AM Schedule: Observer Meet-8:15am, Riders 8:45am, 9am Trial Start, Complete by Noon

Saturday PM Schedule: Observer Meet-12:15pm, Riders 12:45pm, 1:00pm Trial Start, Sweep out at 4:30pm

Sunday AM Schedule: Observer Meet-8:00am, Riders 8:15am, 8:30am Trial Start, Complete by 11:30am

Sunday PM Schedule: Observer Meet-12:00pm, Riders 12:15pm, 12:30pm Trial Start, Sweep out at 3:30pm

Kids Trial: FREE! We are happy to host a 5 section trial close to the main pits Saturday evening after the main trial. There will be an A and B line. We would welcome any help section scoring from you proud parents!

Directions from ID-55 to campsites/signup: Head toward McCall via state highway 55. 

Coming from the South on 55: Turn right onto E Lake Fork Rd for 1.8 miles, turn left on Farm to Market Rd. In 2.8 miles take a sharp right onto Boulder Lake Rd (road turns to gravel in .9 miles). In 1.7 miles take a left and follow the signs to camping/signup

 Coming from the North on 55: Turn left off ID-55 onto Elo Road. In 2.9 miles keep left onto Boulder Lake Rd. (road turns to gravel in .9 miles) In 1.7 miles take a left and follow the signs to camping/signup

Nearby mountain towns: McCall, Donnelly, Cascade, Lake Fork, New Meadows. Jug Mountain Ranch, Brundage Resort, Tamarack Resort and Bear Basin all have great options for almost anything you want to do! Feel free to reach out to us if you have questions about the area and activities.

This event is sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) and an AMA membership is required to ride. If you are not a current member, or do not wish for an annual membership, a $25 event pass can be purchased onsite or an annual adult or youth membership (can pay for AMA membership or event pass with cash, check or credit card). 

Rider Check-in: We will have live signups and check-in for riding Friday from 5-7ishPM and again Saturday and Sunday mornings prior to the main trial. CASH or VENMO ONLY PLEASE! Pre-registration is strongly encouraged!

Camping: This is public state land so you can come and camp when you want. Porta-a-potties will be onsite. It is dry camping with no garbage service so please pack it in, pack it out and help keep our state land clean!
