TL;DR: Treehouse is back with a bang! Tickets go on sale May 17th, with full refunds if the event is postponed or cannot go ahead due to Covid-19.
Join us for the 5th instalment of the Treehouse journey! We're back for another year of Treehouse goodness; expect more music, more workshops, more people and more boutique experiences. Leave your expectations at the door and prepare for another truly unique weekend spent dancing in the shadow of the Uffington White Horse!
We are taking Treehouse up a level this year. Tom and the team have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure this year is bigger and better than ever before. The event is being planned in accordance with the latest Covid-19 government guidelines and we are in consultation with the licensing authority to ensure that all aspects of the event planning meet the stringent requirements to ensure the event can proceed safely. We are confident the 2021 event will go ahead but in the unlikely possibility that the event is postponed or cancelled we will honour full ticket refunds.
What's New for 2021?
🏕 We've tripled the size of the event site to ensure there is ample space for Treehouse to grow for years to come. Parking and Campervans will be located in the Easterly Field whilst the main Campsite and Festival Site will be in the original Westerly Field. The main stage will remain under the treehouse and we have plans for some exciting new areas within the woods themselves.
🚌 We are organising a shuttle bus to offer transport from Oxford directly to the event site. Further details will be released closer to the event but affordable one-way tickets will be available from Oxford to Treehouse on Friday Evening and Saturday Morning and then back to Oxford on Sunday Morning and Sunday Afternoon. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to get to and from the event.
🚲 We are organising a group cycle from Oxford to the event on Friday evening and Saturday morning and back to Oxford on Sunday afternoon. Your bags will be shuttled directly to the event site ready for your arrival. Free beer to anyone who arrives by bike to quench your burning thighs and recognise your efforts to reduce your carbon impact.
🚑 As Treehouse grows, so does our responsibility to you, our beloved guest. We are pleased to announce that we will have both professional Medical Cover and SIA security in place to ensure your safety and peace of mind.
COVID-19
The Covid-19 pandemic is still very much front and centre as we approach our 2021 event. We are paying close attention to the latest government guidelines for outdoor events to ensure Treehouse 2021 adheres to all of the requirements. After such a successful socially distanced event last year, we’re confident we can adhere to guidance to curate another safe event!
We’re hoping the event won’t be socially distanced, but have plans in place if it is! We can’t say exactly what the event will look like, but we will keep you updated as we approach the last weekend of July.
Music
Confirmed acts include some of the Treehouse favourites, as well as some very exciting new faces! Follow the Treehouse social media for all the latest lineup announcements. A sneak peak of 2021 acts include Worldwide Welshman, Robi Mitch and Bush Fyre to name but a few.
Performances & Talks
Performances and talks are an integral part of the Treehouse experience and 2021 will not let you down. We are so much more than simply a music festival and this is something we are working really hard to enhance. From an Aerial Silk performance hung beneath the Treehouse, to an Oxford Univeristy Professor detailing the Archaeological provenance of the ancient White Horse, you are sure to be both informed and amazed!
Workshops & Activities
Workshops and activities are another intrinsic part of the Treehouse schedule and we have more than ever scheduled for 2021. Whether it's creativity, human connection, developing a new skill or simply stepping outside of your comfort zone to experience something completely new, there will be opportunities a plenty! Life Drawing, Acro Yoga and Shibari will be back as firm favourite, with Hula Hoop, Ecstatic Dance and Foraging amongst others being introduce for 2021.
Food & Drink
We've got you covered when it comes to Food and Drink!
🍕White Horse Pizza Box will be back with their exceptional wood fired pizzas and sourdough breakfast treats.
🍺Tap Social brewery will be supplying their exceptional beer, expertly brewed by those on day release from Oxfordshire prisons.
☕️Jericho Coffee Traders will have your morning sore head covered with freshly brewed coffee from their Tuk Tuk espresso bar.
Get Involved
Want to get involved in Treehouse 2021? Hell yeah! Tom is looking for switched on, hard working self starters to take on responsibility before and during the event. These volunteer positions would be perfect for those who love facilitating unique experiences and thrive on the immediacy of curating live events. Certainly not for the feint hearted!
Fancy performing? Or know someone that should? Please get in touch with the team via treehousefestivalhq@gmail.com with details of your performance. Note, we are particularly looking to increase the diversity of our Treehouse 2021 performers this year.
Volunteering
We are looking for passionate, punctual & hard working Volunteer Stewards to help the event run smoothly. You'll be an ambassador for Treehouse and will play an essential part in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of the Treehouse guests. Responsibilities will include checking guest tickets, directing traffic, ensuring Covid-19 precautions are followed, fire marshalling, crowd control and emergency response. Virtual training will be provided prior to the event. Volunteers will be reimbursed for the price of their ticket on successful completion of a six hour shift. Please get in touch through treehousefestivalhq@gmail.com if you are interested in volunteering.
What can you do to help?
The biggest thing you can do to help is simply spread the word! Treehouse is all about you, our amazing community and it's been amazing to watch the community grow over the last four years. Tell your friends, explain what Treehouse is and what we are trying to build: we're not aiming to become the next Glastonbury, but we'll settle for the illicit love child of Wilderness and Secret Garden Party!
Please leave us a 5* Google Review!
We don't have a 6 figure marketing budget to throw around so we rely on your, our Treehousers, to tell your friends and share the magic of Treehouse. In ten years time we want to see the same familiar faces dancing under the treehouse, perhaps just with a few more laughter lines around their eyes and perhaps even a baby with those adorable mini ear defenders!
Diversity & Inclusion
Treehouse 2021 is striving for improved diversity throughout the Treehouse performers. The team is actively engaging with performers, speakers and facilitators from under represented groups to ensure equal representation throughout the event. We are particularly looking to speak to under represented performers and facilitators who would be interested in joining the Treehouse family.
Accessibility
Treehouse is working hard to improve accessibility to the festival for those with accessibility requirements. The festival site is step free and access to the Treehouse stage is being improved to ensure that wheelchair users can access all areas of the event. We have appointed an Accessibility Officer to drive improvements and welcome any suggestions or feedback from previous years as to how we can continue to improve. Personal Assistants to those with accessibility requirements will receive a complimentary ticket to the festival. Please contact treehousefestivalhq@gmail.com to discuss any specific accessibility requirements ahead of the event.
Sponsorship
Treehouse is looking for sponsorship opportunities to help balance the books with the added costs of running a live event within the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic. Sponsorship could take many forms and we hope to build long standing relationships that grow with the festival over the coming years.
FAQs
Does Treehouse 2021 have an Event License?
Yes, Treehouse Festival Ltd (the company behind Treehouse Festival of Music & Arts) is in the process of securing a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) from the Vale of the White Horse District Council. This event license is required to cover the sale of alcohol and for the performance of live amplified music.
How many tickets will be available for Treehouse 2021?
200 General Admission tickets will be available for Treehouse 2021. This is approximately 50% of the event site capacity to ensure that social distancing can be maintained if required by the latest government guidelines.
How do I get there?
Treehouse Festival can be found 'in the middle of nowhere', approximately 40 minutes South of Oxford by car. Detailed travel instructions will be provided to ticket holders. Treehouse will be providing a shuttle bus from Oxford for those without access to a car.
Why is it called Treehouse?
Good question! The event is centred around Tom's magnificent Treehouse that sits at the heart of the festival site.
Is Glamping available?
Not this year, but the Treehouse team are working on it for 2022.
Can I invite my friends?
Hell yes! The more the merrier. We only ask that you ensure your friends read all of the information available so that they know what they are signing up for!
Are day tickets available?
Sorry, no day tickets will be available for the 2021 event. This is to ensure that tickets are prioritised to those who can attend the full weekend and immerse themselves entirely in the Treehouse Experience. Please do get in touch directly if you have exceptional circumstances that mean you require a day ticket and queries will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
I can't afford the ticket price, can I still come?
We want Treehouse to be accessible to all so please do get in touch if ticket price is a barrier to coming. Each case will be dealt with in absolute confidence. Volunteers will receive a full refund on their ticket on completion of a full 6 hour shift.
Can I bring my dog/cat/gerbil?
Sorry, but we cannot admit any pets to the festival site other than registered guide dogs.
Can I bring my kids?
Sorry, but Treehouse 2021 is an 18+ event and no under 18 tickets will be available for the event. We hope that little ones will be able to join us in future years!
Can I perform?
Maybe! Whilst we are always open to new performers joining the Treehouse family, this year we are making a specific effort to engage with under represented performers so your performance might need to wait until 2022. Please do get in touch!
I've got a great idea to offer to Treehouse 2021, who do I talk to?
Amazing, thank you for your contribution! Please contact treehousefestivalhq@gmail.com or reach out to Tom directly to speak about your idea.
