INNER LANDSCAPE | TITHE BARN | SPECIAL OPENING
INNER LANDSCAPE | TITHE BARN
SPECIAL OPENING, THURSDAY EVE 18th JUNE
Come and experience Luke and Lilith’s artwork immersed in beautiful live sound within one of Somerset’s most atmospheric historic spaces.
PROGRAMME
Silver Ley | 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Volume One Tounge | 8:00pm – 10:00pm
An immersive and memorable evening of painting, installation, performance and live music will bring the ancient walls to life.
At the centre of the exhibition stands a monumental Oak tree sculpture, originally created as the centrepiece for their open-air, surround-sound stage at Glastonbury festival.
Throughout the evening, the exhibition transforms into an immersive, evolving atmosphere, accompanied by a live soundscape featuring musicians from the @TreeSonics collective. Performances include Silver Ley, presenting ambient soundscapes and a unique exploration of contemporary and ancient vocal traditions, alongside Volume One Tongue, performing a special acoustic set with a cellist
“Art and music allow us to come to terms with our mortality in those seemingly eternal golden moments when we feel connected — part of something bigger than ourselves, a collective belonging that runs deep in the land and through the air.”
THE VENUE
The Pilton Tithe Barn sits at the heart of the Vale of Avalon, in a commanding position overlooking King’s Hill and the hallowed ground of Glastonbury Festival site. Overlooking Glastonbury Tor, the Blackdown Hills and the western seaboard visible in the distance.
Originally built in the 14th century to store produce for Glastonbury Abbey, the barn later fell into ruin. Once thatched, it was struck by lightning and destroyed by fire in 1963 — an event witnessed by an 18-year-old Michael Eavis. Decades later, with the support of English Heritage funding, he helped restore the barn to its former glory. The restored building officially reopened in April 2005.
