Scheduled in between NeoCon and Dutch Design Week, we are pleased to present our latest trend research for Home, Interiors, Materials and Colours. Included in this session is an in-depth look at trends from the 2021 Salone del Mobile in Milan, where we gathered highlights onsite and confirmed the continuation of long-term trends beyond the pandemic. In the keynote, NEWS FROM NOWHERE, Philip Fimmano will explore the slowness of craft processes gives design its nobility and depth. Tomorrow’s objects and textiles should be scrutinised for the possibilities of refined detailing and finishing – like braiding, basket weaving, engraving, painting, lace making, embroideries and more. This holistic approach to living has become a sophisticated design direction for our times, where the functions of rooms are shifting, demanding totally new plans for the future; a nucleus society with more room for family and friends and less space for solitude, with a focus on cooking and learning, playing and reading, baking and bingeing... Living rooms will become living kitchens, bedrooms will become junior suites and dining rooms will become libraries to study and connect, while gardens and balconies become coveted, adding an extra room to the home.
