Join Trend Union’s Philip Fimmano and design expert David Clark for another inspiring seminar in Australia this January! This not-to-be-missed in-person session will look at the influence of gender identities on society and fashion before analysing the contemporary Arts & Crafts movement, both from a local and a global perspective. Topics covered include: socio-cultural macro trends, fashion, interiors, design, textiles, colours and materials.

FEDERATION HIJACKED: Arts & Crafts in Australia & the New Socialist Aesthetic

David Clark takes a detailed look at the history of Arts & Crafts in Australia, analysing the Federation style’s disruption since World War I and questioning what could have been in the decades that followed. David will also highlight key players from the contemporary Australian design movement, drawing upon Arts & Crafts’ socialist philosophy and investigating similar parallels with the new age in which we live.
