Come and wrap yourself in deep time and take away a grounding new experience of our city, that will change every stroll through Norwich you take. We’re so lucky to have some of the best medieval churches in Europe, a virtually intact Tudor street, second highest spire in the country, one of two Norman market places left in England. Let's explore these together but first consider what lies beneath these stories, what are their foundations?
Join art historian, forest school leader and storyteller Roxanne Matthews on a walking tour towards and beyond these human tales and structures. A walk through the deep time of our ice age past, a story that made our city river and the aquifers beneath our feet, before we move on, with this subterranea beneath us, to more human filled times.
Roxanne is long-time guide of the Assembly House, avid medieval church geek and lover of play, creativity, green spaces and rivers. She's not only interested in people, communities and stories but in how geology and the more than human world can interrupt these things, opening our minds and hearts to greater ponderings that might, if we're lucky, help us feel more grounded and less wizzy, in a world that invites us to be fast paced.
