About your facilitator
Susan Weaver is a fine Art artist and printmaker, specialising in the traditional relief techniques of woodcut and linocut. Having trained originally as a painter, in 2008 Susan studied at The University of Leeds to become a Master of Fine Arts. During her time at Leeds she discovered her passion for printmaking as a form of creative expression, in particular the strong mark making and boldness of imagery which woodcut is associated with. The therapeutic qualities of art as a form of expression has always been important to Susan, and after completing a teaching degree, she taught as a mental health art tutor as well as running private printmaking workshops from her home. Susan has exhibited her work extensively across the UK and now works from her studio in Little Fransham in Norfolk, continually experimenting and drawing inspiration from wildlife and her surroundings as well as the need to preserve an increasingly fragile natural world.
