Lost Myths: Storytelling Evening
Lost Myths: Storytelling Evening
Join us in the magical surroundings of Wrongs Covert, where humans have gathered to weave myths and stories for centuries. For an evening of lost stories, myths and tales in the woods.
The night will be hosted by Roxanne Matthews, storyteller, art historian and forest school leader as she shares some of the stories emerging from her research and attention here at Wrongs, and invites you to tell your own, from the places you reside.
If you have a story you consider a lost myth, one you’ve caught on the wind or had whispered to you by a blackbird, we want to hear it. How does land speak to you and what does it say? Like fruiting mycelial networks, stories get reinvented and co-created and emerge in certain times and places for a reason. Perhaps they have always helped us make sense of our lives, ancestors and landscapes, perhaps they still could, let’s find out…
Floor spots are a maximum of 20 mins, and there are 2-3 available. If you’re interested please send us a paragraph about your story and why you’d like to tell it here at Wrongs, to treowforestschool@gmail.com by Monday 7th September. Stories don’t have to be original, what stories are after all, but they have to be retrieved in some way, from a lost place, interpret that as you will.
Please bring warm clothing, sturdy shoes and any cosy blankets or cushions you might like, as well as a torch and your own snacks and beverages.
