Grief is such an essential and painful part of the human experience and in these times of change, we have so much of it to feel. As the darker nights draw in, space has been made for grief across cultures and times to acknowledge and express personal loss, collective loss, layers of loss in ourselves and in the world around us.
We invite you to the ancient woodland of Wrongs Covert, where pilgrims have walked and humans have gathered for centuries, where humans and more than humans have always lived in harmony, for a 12 hour grief vigil round the fire. Bring an image of a loved one, human or more than human, their favourite food, a silent knowing, a loss, your deep uncertainties, speak them or don’t speak it into the fire. This will be a quiet space of contemplation, there may be respectful singing and music. The fire, the trees and the water will hold us and we’ll hold each other.
The circle will be held all day, but with 2 hour slots available to book, tickets are free but limited. If you’d like to stay longer or join us for the whole circle, please contact us at treowforestschool@gmail.com
Parking on site is limited so we encourage you to car share where possible or contact for help arranging transport.
Please bring warm clothing, sturdy shoes and any cosy blankets or cushions you might like. Refreshments will be available but you may wish to bring your own snacks.
About Wrongs Covert
Nestled in the reed beds and ancient wet woodland cradling the Wensum, 12 miles NW of Norwich, is a beautiful and magical place. As a large proportion of the wet woodland left in Norfolk, Wrongs is home to rare species, otters, badger, the river Wensum, a glacial stream, Saxon road, Neolithic flint site and hand built structures of wood sourced on site. Access to the site is always by invitation only or through these special events.

Tickets are free but please book in advance, and we kindly request you let us know if you are no longer able to attend. In the event of very high winds or electric storms, we'll reschedule dates.
