The gentle art of walking
Networking with a difference, for those who dislike traditional networking (and those that love it too!).
The gentle art of walking is a chance to meet other creatives (and non-creatives, no elitism here!), get out of the studio, ground yourself in nature, get some exercise and meet others in a relaxed and informal way.
The route for this walk is around 3 miles long and is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced walkers (there is a mix of terrain, one steepish hill and some beautiful views as always). Please note this route may be muddy if there has been a lot of rain (I know, seems unlikely!), so sensible footwear is important but the views always make up for it. This route is also partly shady and partly in the open so a hat, some suncreen and a water bottle are a good idea too.
For 2026 I am introducing a new element to the walks. We will take some time during the shady part of the walk to stop, listen, and ground ourselves. There will also be the opportunity to take 15-20 minutes in creative practice. You can either choose to do your own thing - photography, drawing, painting, writing etc - or I will guide you through a short creative activity that taps into all your senses. Please do bring your own equipment as I cannot provide it for you - sorry!
We will start and finish at The Fort Victoria Country Park just outside Yarmouth. There are public toilets and a cafe so we can go for a drink or some food together after the walk - there are plenty of outside tables to sit at together.
Please note you will be walking at your own risk and will need to sign a waiver that you understand this before we set off.
There is a free carpark at Fort Victoria but please do car share/cycle/use public transport where you can. The number 7, Needles Breezer and Coastal Breezer Southern Vectis services all stop nearby at the Westhill Lane bus stop which is a 15 minute walk down Westhill Lane to the fort - please take care as there is limited pavement and a steep hill.
Please donate whatever you can as all money from the tickets is donated to my two chosen charities - Hillside Animal Sanctuary in the UK and Shelter Ugolyok in Ukraine.
