This in person meetup in London is to celebrate 6 years of our My Skin My Story community, empowering women of colour around the world of all walks of life. Women of colour will connect, share their stories and celebrate each other.

We will hear stories from some inspiring women in our community, be energised through some fun and relaxed networking and most importantly leave this event with new meaningful connections. We welcome anyone who identifies as a woman of colour, new and familiar faces!

During this event we will explore:

  • Intersectionality as a superpower
  • Owning our voice and our stories
  • Defining success on our own terms
  • Filling our own cups

Hosted by our founder Sathya Bala and at the lovely Netflix offices in London, this will be a moment for you to recharge, be inspired and nourished. We can't wait to see you. This is a grass roots community so please spread the word and bring your friends. Refreshments will be provided again thanks to our hosts at Netflix.

More about Sathya:

Sathya Bala (she/her) is a leader, board member, coach, entrepreneur, speaker and community organiser.  She embraces her cross cultural lived experience, as a Sri Lankan Tamil woman, born in Singapore, brought up in Australia and living in the UK.  She spent most of her career working at large organisations like Sainsburys, Deloitte, HSBC and Barclays with her last role being the Head of Data at Chanel. In 2021 she jumped into running her own business True Change which works to make organisations more inclusive and innovative using data and storytelling. My Skin My Story is one of her biggest passion projects, a global community she launched for women of colour 6 years ago. Sathya is a lifelong dancer having trained in Bharatanatyam and then hip hop in adulthood. She hopes to reconnect with her first love singing, and has begun to share and perform her poetry. Sathya believes empowering women in all ways, through their mind, body, creativity and work pursuits is how she can make a positive difference.

This event is for those who identify as women of colour.
