What really happens when a case goes cold?
Cold case Detective Andrea Richards will join us on screen at Maldron Hotel to explore the realities of cold case Investigations, major enquiries and misconceptions that the public often have around policing and serious crime investigations. Drawing on real investigative experience and examples from cases she has personally worked on, Andrea will discuss what happens behind the scenes when progress stalls, how investigations are revisited, the pressures detectives work under, and why public perception of policing is often very different from reality.
The session will also explore the growing influence of online commentary and true crime content culture, and how this can sometimes clash with the realities of active investigations and police work.
The seminar will include an audience Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions directly and explore the topic in more depth.
