Mendelssohn’s Elijah
Sat 13 Apr 2024 7:30 PM - 9:45 PM
Truro Cathedral, TR1 2AJ
Description
“Elijah” is a great favourite with audiences and singers alike. It contains some of Mendelssohn’s greatest music with grand choruses and beautiful arias telling the prophet’s story in a series of dramatic episodes. The steadfast Elijah encounters the vengeful queen Jezebel amongst drought, rain, earthquake and fire – all portrayed by Mendelssohn’s fine writing!
Truro Choral’s singers are joined in the cathedral by outstanding soloists and many of Cornwall’s finest musicians in the Truro Symphony Orchestra.
Doors open: 6:45pm
