This course deals with the requirements of BS7909: 2023 + A1:2024 - The Code of Practice for the creation and operation of Temporary Electrical Systems for Entertainment and Related Purposes.

BS7909 is used in a huge range of events beyond the scope of the IEE Regulations.

The Standard outlines the necessary management arrangements and the required range of electrical supplies, heavy-duty flexible cables and portable distribution units needed.

The systems used range from very simple to highly complex and the Standard gives recommendations for all temporary electrical systems.

Candidate Suitability
The course is intended for all those involved in the Design, installation testing and verification of temporary electrical systems that are required to comply with BS7909 and are required to be the Competent and responsible person.
Previous experience in the installation of Temporary electrical systems is a requirement for this course.
Qualification in BS7671, 17th or 18th edition would be an advantage but not essential.

Course Outcome/Qualification
Candidates who successfully complete this course will be able to:

• Design, install, test, verify and certify a temporary electrical system to the standard required
  
  On successful completion the learner will receive a certificate in the Requirements for Temporary Electrical Installations (BS7909:2023 + A1: 2024 Temporary Electrical Systems) in the elements listed above, accredited by PM training/The Academy for Theatre Arts.

TSL Training Course Cancellation and Booking Policy
This policy outlines the terms for cancellation, postponement, and changes to confirmed bookings for TSL training courses.
1. Cancellations and Vouchers
All cancellation requests must be received in writing. The voucher value will be calculated based on the course fee paid (the actual fee after any discounts are applied) and is subject to deduction of the non-refundable booking fee. Cash refunds will not be issued; only vouchers will be provided.

2. Reselling Spaces and Voucher Validity

• Reselling Policy: If a space is cancelled with less than 7 days' notice, a voucher will only be processed if the place can be successfully resold.
• Administration Fee: If TSL Lighting finds a replacement candidate and successfully resells the space, a £50 administration fee will be deducted from the resulting voucher value to cover the time spent on finding a replacement.
• Voucher Validity: Vouchers are valid for 1 year from the date of issue towards any future TSL training course.

3. Delegate Replacement
If a booked delegate is unable to attend, the customer is welcome to send a substitute delegate in their place. TSL Lighting will accept a different candidate and process a name change at any time without incurring a charge.
4. Course Postponement or Cancellation by TSL Lighting

• Notice: If TSL Lighting has to cancel or postpone a course due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., trainer illness or insufficient interest), we will attempt to give 7 days or more notice wherever possible.
• Voucher: TSL will issue a voucher to cover the full course fee paid for use on the postponed course or future bookings.
• Priority Rebooking: Course candidates affected by a postponement will be given the first opportunity to book onto the rescheduled course before it is generally advertised.
• Liability: TSL will not be liable for any incidental expenses incurred outside of the booking fee for the course (e.g., hotels or travel costs).
