Join us to hear from two of the Clinical Psychologists working in the new TTP Specialist Centres in England.
Find out what they do and what you can expect as a patient from psychological support offered via the TTP Specialist Centres.
About our guest speakers:
Eike Adams, Clinical Psychologist at the Oxford University Hospitals Trust.
I am fairly new in post, having joined the TTP team in April. But I have been having conversations with Dr Mike Desborough, the consultant in Oxford for a year, and have a background in working in cancer, heart disease and other physical health conditions. At the moment I work in sexual health in addition to my TTP work. I work closely with Sue Pavord and Mike Desborough, our consultants, and Sayma Raza-Burton, our Specialist nurse. I have been in clinical practice for over a decade and worked as a researcher in cancer survivorship before then.
Dr Elaine Young, Clinical Psychologist at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge.
I have worked with people with TTP for over a year now, along with other conditions seen within our Medical Haematology department here. I work very closely with Dr Will Thomas, Consultant Haematologist and we recently set up a joint TTP clinic to ensure that we provide an effective and holistic service to people in the region. I am also the lead for Psychological Therapies for Paediatrics within the hospital. I have been in practice as a Clinical Psychologist for many many years.... (not sure I want to count them anymore!).
