Helping Neurodiverse primary school children transitioning to secondary school with Dr Dorothy Armstrong

Transitioning to secondary school is a major milestone in a child’s life. Neuro divergent young people can find this change particularly challenging and thus it’s important to prepare them for the move. Dr Dorothy Armstrong is the author of the book 'The Next Adventure: Transitioning to Secondary School when you have Developmental Coordination Disorder' and will deliver this talk which is aimed at parents/guardians and those who work with this population. It will cover the following:

• The issues that are challenging for the neuro-diverse child when transitioning to secondary school
• How to prepare the child for the transition
• Strategies that will help with the child to settle once they’ve made the transition.
