During this two-part workshop you will learn the techniques for long-term cultivation and shaping of plants in containers in the Sonoran Desert.
Included:
- Two classes of 4 hours each with bonai expert Gabe Reed
- a 5-gallon Portulacaria afra plant
- Basic Bonsai Class Workbook
- Use of a variety of bonsai tools and training wire
- Hands-on assistance will be provided throughout sessions
Basic Class Description
Class 1: Bonsai basics and history; tree selection; initial pruning and wiring of tree.
Class 2: Refinement, potting and long-term care.
What to Bring: All tools will be provided for you to work on your tree, but if you have some of your own that you want to use, just be sure you have your name on them. Tools will also be available for sale. You will also want a pen and a notebook.
