You are hereby invited to take your place at the Christmas Court of His Majesty King Henry VIII and Queen Kathryn Howard.

For one afternoon this festive season, the doors of the magnificent oak-panelled Courtroom at The Tudor House Hotel, Tewkesbury will open to receive a select company of guests.

But you will not enter as an audience.

You will enter as members of the Court.

Take your place amongst the King’s chosen company, surrounded by Tudor portraits and the rich character of this historic room, as Christmas is celebrated with fine food, period music, Tudor revelries and the unmistakable presence of Henry and Kathryn.

There is no distant stage from which history is performed for you. The Court exists around you. The King may address you. The Queen may draw you into conversation. Toasts will be raised, stories shared and the pleasures, personalities and intrigues of Henry’s court allowed to unfold across the afternoon.

This is an intimate gathering by design. Only a limited number may enter the Court, preserving an atmosphere that feels personal, privileged and wonderfully removed from the ordinary Christmas celebration.

For a few indulgent hours, the twenty-first century can wait beyond the doors.

Inside, the wine is poured, the music plays and the Tudor Court awaits.

Cappuccino Panna Cotta, Almond brittle, Kirsch cherry.

Leek, Mushroom & Chestnut Puff Pastry Tart, Brie, winter ratatouille, crispy kale, red wine glaze.
