Saturday Salon: The Bassoon
Sat 24 May 2025 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Tuggeranong Arts Centre, 2900
Description
Ben Hoadley will chart a journey through the fascinating history of the bassoon, the deepest member of the woodwind family. The bassoon has a rich and dynamic repertoire and has been beloved as a solo instrument by composers for five centuries. Ben will present works from the Renaissance (performed on the instrument's predecessor, the dulcian) through the classical period, to pieces by Canberra composers Larry Sitsky and Sally Whitwell, alongside several of his own compositions.
