A Sense of Place: Mariana Del Castillo

A Sense of Place participants will collaborate to create eco dyed fabrics and Cyanotypes, etched using leaves of their favourite plants, and collected from their gardens or on the nature walks around the Pearce Community Centre and Woden area. Starting with house sculptures to explore individual and community existence, participants will clothe them with stained, dyed and stitched fabric as a first layer of their story. Over subsequent weeks they will draw intimate pictures, symbols, animals and text using a variety of materials and techniques to collage and sculpt finished stories. The A Sense of Place Project will culminate with a pop-up exhibition with an on-line presence. Participants are asked to commit to the full six weeks.
