Take A Seat: Theatre Fundraising

Take your seat and reserve your place in TAC’s history by supporting TAC’s seat sponsorship campaign in our newly refurbished Wood-Mico Theatre.

Your gift helps to support a place where art and artists can thrive, where stories are shared, creativity flourishes, and connections between artists and audiences are forged. Until 2030, you can be part of the audience in spirit for every concert, theatrical work and dance performance. A $350 tax deductible donation will help to amplify our theatre program, supporting development of new work, and ensuring that TAC can bring a varied selection of work to the stage.

Your gift will give you the opportunity to personalise a plaque on a seat while supporting the arts in our community. Your seat plaque can display your own name, the name of a business or organisation, or the name of someone special. You can also purchase a seat as a gift for someone who has significantly contributed to the artistic culture of Tuggeranong.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Campaign Overview

• The Take a Seat campaign invites supporters to contribute to the enhancement of Tuggeranong Arts Centre by sponsoring a seat. Contributions will help to amplify our theatre program, supporting development of new work, and ensuring that TAC can bring a varied selection of work to the stage.

2. Eligibility

• Participation in seat sponsorship is open to individuals aged 18 years and over, businesses, and organisations. Minors may participate with parental or guardian consent.

3. Seat Sponsorship

• Each donation of $350 or more entitles the donor to sponsor a seat.

• Each seat plaque will display one name only – one individual or one business or one organisation.

• Seat sponsorship will be recognised by a personalised plaque affixed to a seat in the theatre or performance space.

• The plaque may include the donor’s name (subject to the donor’s or gift recipient’s approval).

4. Plaque Guidelines

• Messages must be respectful, non-political, non-commercial, and free of offensive language.

• Tuggeranong Arts Centre reserves the right to edit or reject plaque text that does not comply with these guidelines. Where the plaque is edited, the donor will have the opportunity to comment on and approve the edits.

5. Term

• Plaques will remain in place until 30 June 2030 excepting where the seat that you have sponsored is no longer available due to circumstances such as renovation or repairs. Where this occurs TAC may where possible offer you:

• An alternative seat and/or venue for the remainder of the Term in similar location .

• If TAC is unable to offer you your seat for a portion of the Term, at TAC’s discretion, TAC may extend the Term for the period in which the Seat Sponsorship was not used.

• Your donation applies to the existing Term only. Should you wish to purchase an additional Term, you will need to make an additional donation in accordance with the pricing options on our website, www.tuggeranongarts.com

• You or the person for which the seat sponsorship is made can choose to end the Term of your seat sponsorship early by notifying TAC. You acknowledge and accept that the donation is non-refundable.

6. Donations

• All donations are non-refundable, except where the donation made was a genuine mistake or was done without the appropriate authorisation of the named donor.

• Donations are tax deductible – Tuggeranong Community Arts Association holds Deductible Grant Recipient status.

• The seat sponsorship is a personalised plaque. You may purchase a seat sponsorship in your own or in someone else’s name (e.g. as a gift). Once a seat sponsorship is made, the plaque and seat sponsorship are non-transferable for the duration of the Term.

• A receipt will be issued to each donor upon confirmation of payment except in the case of an informal group, where one receipt will be issued in the name of the person responsible for making the donation on the group’s behalf.

7. Recognition

• You consent to TAC recognising your name published on donor boards and in publications. If you do not consent to having your name published, and would prefer to remain anonymous, please notify TAC

• Sponsorship does not confer ownership or exclusive rights to the sponsored seat.

8. Use of Funds

• Funds raised through the campaign will be used at the discretion of Tuggeranong Arts Centre to support its mission, including but not limited to:

• Venue improvements

• Artistic programming

• Community outreach

9. Changes and Cancellation

• Tuggeranong Arts Centre reserves the right to modify or cancel the campaign at any time. In such cases, reasonable efforts will be made to honour existing sponsorships, where this is not possible the donations will be returned to the donors.

10. Privacy

• Personal information collected during the campaign will be handled in accordance with Tuggeranong Arts Centre’s Privacy Policy and applicable laws.

11. Disclaimer

• A seat sponsorship is a sponsorship for the duration of the Term only, and does not confer, transfer or assign ownership of that seat. Sponsoring a seat is a charitable donation and does not give the donor or gift recipient legal ownership of the seat or the land on which the seat is located. 

• A seat sponsorship does not guarantee that you will be able to book your dedicated seat. Should you wish to sit in your dedicated seat when coming to see a show at TAC, please book your seat as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

• TAC is grateful for the generous support that it receives from the community and from donors. However, TAC may, at its sole discretion, determine to not accept a donation. This may occur in circumstances including, but not limited to, where TAC considers that any proposed wording for inclusion on an engraved plaque is impracticable, inappropriate, offensive or otherwise does not meet TAC’s standards. In such instances, TAC will inform the donor of the decision taken by TAC in relation to the proposed wording, and will endeavour to reach an agreement with the donor where possible in respect of alternate wording. In the event that it is not possible for an agreement to be reached between the donor and TAC, TAC may refund the donation to the donor.
