Short Course: Monotype Printing with Peter McLean

Join established artist Peter McLean for an introduction to monotype printing. Best known for rich tones and spontaneous mark making, monotype printing is an easy to explore medium requiring no previous printmaking experience. Often referred to as painterly printmaking; monotype prints are made by drawing or painting ink on a smooth surface before the image is transferred to paper. Unlike most other printmaking processes, monotypes are a one-off that cannot be repeated. This short course will give you a taste of the variety and techniques used in this spontaneous printing process. Participants will do something different each week, so while the techniques are simple, there is lots to learn and lots of fun to be had. All materials provided. The class is suitable for beginners and people with basic print making experience.
