Tune in Tokyo is an event production and nightlife collective that specializes in global pop with a focus on Japanese and Korean music. Founded in 2008, Tune in Tokyo created the first monthly club events geared towards the J-Pop & K-Pop communities in Los Angeles. Today, we produce several live shows across the US and online. In 2018 we launched Plastic City, LA’s first ever CityPop & Kayokyoku event that would later spawn vintage vinyl night, Showa Drift.

In 2022 Tune in Tokyo produced two new events, Shibuya Starlight and Heisei Nights. Shibuya Starlight focuses on the growing popularity of Future Funk and interest in 90s nostalgia. Heisei Nights is a retrospective on all Japanese music that was produced in the Heisei era from 1989 to 2019. This period of time saw a massive diversification of music which gave rise to the idol group scene and anisong as we know it today.

Outside of our home events our DJs hold residencies at some of the hottest clubs around LA such as Catch One, Micky’s WeHo, High Tide, and The Grand Star Jazz Club. You can find us playing a wide range of music outside of J-Pop & K-Pop which include Deep House, American Top 40, Disco, and Hip Hop.
