Have you ever played chess in an art gallery? We're hosting a free to enter Rapid chess competition on the balcony at Turner Contemporary as part of the public programme of The Sunken Boat: A glimpse into past histories, an exhibition by Anna Boghiguian. The competition format will be a 5 round Swiss unrated event, with each player having 15 minutes for all their moves, starting at 6pm. This tournament, run by International Arbiter Alan Atkinson, is for all levels, rated or unrated, with prizes for the top 3 players. There are 40 places so please book your ticket in advance. Alongside the competition there will be open tables for visitors to play as well as a chance to have an evening view of the exhibitions on offer.
