Summer School, 2001 | UK Distribution Launch Screening + Director Q&A Presented by Star Nha Ease

Sun 26 Jul 2026 6:30 PM - 10:30 PM Centre 151, E2 8GU

Star Nha Ease is proud to present the UK distribution launch screening of Summer School, 2001, the first Czech-Vietnamese feature film, followed by a special live Q&A with director Duzan Duong.

This event marks an exciting new chapter for Star Nha Ease as we launch our UK theatrical distribution strand, dedicated to bringing Vietnamese and diaspora cinema to audiences across the UK.

Following its UK premiere at Raindance Film Festival, Summer School, 2001 begins its UK theatrical rollout with this special screening hosted by Star Nha Ease.

Directed by Duzan Duong, the film is a beautifully crafted coming-of-age story exploring family, identity, belonging and growing up between cultures through a unique Czech-Vietnamese perspective.

Both intimate and universal, Summer School, 2001 offers a rare and moving portrait of Vietnamese diaspora life in Europe, capturing the complexities of home, heritage and self-discovery.

Following the screening, audiences will have the opportunity to hear directly from director Duzan Duong in a special Q&A discussing the making of the film, representation, diaspora storytelling and the journey of bringing the first Czech-Vietnamese feature film to international audiences.
