Tyler Grange Summer Solstice Event (Tuesday 22nd July 2025), Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Please find enclosed the details for our special Tyler Grange '15th Anniversary' team day, which we've called the 'Summer Solstice'.

To celebrate our 15-year milestone, we've organised a two-part event, comprising a daytime of inspirational speakers and an evening of partying. Clients and collaborators will also be invited to our evening event.

The venue for both is the Birmingham Botanical Gardens: https://birminghambotanicalgardens.org.uk/) and the speakers include:

Mark Shayler (https://www.markshayler.com/)
Mark Shayler helps big companies think small and small companies think big. Making stuff better and making better stuff. He runs an innovation and environmental consultancy called Ape, where he helps businesses to develop new products and services – and in the process, save them shed loads (technical term) of carbon and (to date) over £120 million in unnecessary expenditure. He's a public speaker, trainer, a founding partner of the DO Lectures, as well as an author of ‘Do Disrupt’, ‘Do Present’ and ‘You Can’t Make Money from a Dead Planet’. Mark and his family also run and events and publishing company called ‘Reasons to be Cheerful’ and he is also known as the ‘Punk of Qigong’, running free weekly online qigong sessions live from his garden. He’s music obsessed and will weave his extensive knowledge to create a presentation style that you’ll never forget. He'll also be getting us to embrace some gentle qigong moves on the lawns of the Botanical Gardens.

Laura Ford (https://www.faithinnature.co.uk/pages/avotefornature)
Laura Ford is Sustainability Director at Faith in Nature. Famously, Faith in Nature were the first company in the world to put nature on their Management Board. They’ve put their faith in Nature for almost 50 years, both in their products and in their ethos. But today calls for a different approach than in 1974. So, they've re-written their constitution to give Nature a voice and a vote on how Faith In Nature is run as a business. By making Nature a director of their company, they hope to make better informed decisions around topics that impact it. And let's face it, everything does. Laura is truly passionate about the environment and sustainability and, her vision for the conservation of nature is remarkable. She’ll be sharing the Faith In Nature process in the hope that others will do the same.

John Robb (https://johnrobbofficial.com/)
John Robb is a many-faceted creature. Not just a well known face from TV but also a best selling author, musician, journalist, presenter and pundit, music website boss, publisher, festival boss, Eco champion vegan behemoth and punk rock warlord as well as TV and radio talking head plus singer from post-punk critically acclaimed mainstays The Membranes. John Robb is all these things and more. His recently released book ‘The Art Of Darkness – the History Of Goth’ is a worldwide pop culture best seller and his soon to be launched ground-breaking new scheme – the Green Britain Academy, is set to train up people in thousands of Eco jobs whilst Borders Blurred is a gaming and music agency with a twist. He is also credited with being the first person in the UK to interview Nirvana in May 1989. He has written many books like best sellers like ‘Punk Rock – an Oral History’ and 'The Stone Roses and the Resurrection of British Pop’ and in 2022 a book about the leading Eco energy boss Dale Vince from Ecotricity called ‘Manifesto’.
