University of California, San Diego alumni, students, families and friends from across Europe, the UK and the USA are warmly invited to join us for the first ever Triton European Weekender on Friday 13 September, Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 September, 2024. 

Please note, this event is open to alumni, parents and students from the University of California, San Diego. 

We have a host of activities planned for the weekend in sunny Barcelona and Sitges, from small gatherings to a true Triton Tailgate ahead of cheering on Women's International Water Polo Game! 

When registering please note which activities you are interested in attending so that we may have an accurate headcount. 

If you are travelling to Barcelona from out of town, we recommend you stay in Sitges - a beach town just south of the city centre! 

Friday 13 September

Friday Night Welcome Reception in Sitges

Join us for a complimentarywelcome reception at Vivero Beach Restaurant in Sitges from 6pm-8pm!

Saturday 14 September 

9:30am - Buses depart for the Water Polo Game from Barcelona and Sitges

Free for all to attend. Join us for a tailgate on a party bus to the Water polo game.

10:30 am -  Women's Water polo International Game 
Free for all to attend. Join us in cheering on UC San Diego Women's Water polo as they take on an international Spanish team! 

2:00pm - Lunch at La Torre de Codorniu 
Enjoy delicious tapas, Spanish wine (soft drinks also available) at a beautiful Vineyard and connect with fellow UCSD alumni, students and parents. 

Sunday 15 September 

Option, at own cost activites we recommend: 

Basílica de la Sagrada Família - This UNESCO World Heritage Site, designed by Antoni Gaudi, stands as a colossal testament to artistic and architectural brilliance.

Museu Picasso - It's a unique opportunity for art lovers to immerse themselves in Picasso's extraordinary range and depth, from his Blue Period paintings to his experimental Cubist pieces.

Explore Gothic Quarter - Take a stroll through Barcelona's oldest neighbourhood, the Gothic Quarter. This enchanting area boasts a labyrinth of narrow, winding streets, filled with medieval architecture.

Montjuic Botanical Garden - Located slightly outside the city, it is an oasis of floral beauty perfect for an end of summer outing.
