Join the Rotary Club of Abbotsford Sumas and UFV’s Community Health and Social Innovation Hub (CHASI) for conversations around advancing equity in our community.

This month, we're excited to welcome Dr. Amir Shabani to share his expertise in a presentation titled EDI in AI Research for Health Care Applications.

Dr. Shabani will discuss how Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles inform his research at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and its health applications. Specifically, he will share his team’s work developing social companion robots and assistive technology for Alzheimer’s patients.

Dr. Amir Shabani is an assistant professor in UFV’s School of Computing and a faculty associate with CHASI. His areas of research include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Interactive Robotics, and Internet of Things.

All are welcome, and refreshments will be served.
