‘Chaos’ and the Community Day
What happens when we stop trying to control everything, and create the conditions for something alive, surprising and meaningful to emerge?
Chaos is a systems-thinking term. It describes situations where not all the patterns are readily apparent, yet behaviour still organises anyway. You don’t need heavy structure. A few simple starting conditions can cause things to come alive in natural, unexpected and meaningful ways.
Think of clouds forming complex and beautiful shapes, the leaves of a fern unfolding into fractal patterns, or starlings soaring in an astonishing murmuration.
Our plan is to offer Chaos themes with a touch of theatre and fun. We will set the starting conditions and hold the space to see what people create. The themes will likely centre on connecting, inspiring, creating agency and learning.
There will be a warm welcome, clear starting points and plenty of space to connect with other Co-Active coaches. The aim is to nudge things so they unfold naturally, allowing people to be themselves and to follow the connections that matter to them.
For us as the Agents of Chaos, this gives scope to work with ideas, energy and atmosphere in a creative, sometimes playful, sometimes challenging way. We will seed something small, create sparks, notice what starts happening and make light adjustments as needed. The aim is for the day to feel spacious, alive and a little surprising for everyone involved.
The Connections Live and Grow
For this event, we're also expanding beyond a single day together. Alongside the main event, we're creating opportunities to connect before and after the Community Day through informal gatherings, community meet-ups, online conversations, and social activities for those travelling from further afield or simply wanting to spend more time together.
Our intention is to create a richer and more connected experience, one that begins before you walk through the door and continues long after the day itself has ended. More details will be shared as they emerge, but expect more opportunities for conversation, collaboration, friendship, learning and a little Co-Active magic along the way.
Who are the Agents of Chaos?
The organising event team this time consists of Massimo Comuzzi, Beatrice Hackett, Pedram Parasmand, Nick Robinson, Nick Martin.
We’d love you to connect with us on LinkedIn to get to know us a little better before the event. We’ll also be posting in the dedicated social media group listed below, so you feel like you’re in conversation with us before the day itself.

FAQs
What can you expect from our community days?
Two events a year, run for the community, by the community, as not-for-profit events, on a volunteer basis by members of the Co-Active community.
The objectives of each community day are to provide connection, learning and fun.
Everyone in the Co-Active community is welcome at our events, wherever you’re based in the world and whether you’ve only attended one course with CTI or you’ve been in the community for 20 or even 30 years.
Even if you don’t know anyone at the start of the day, we will make it easy for you to connect through activities during the event and during the breaks. You’ll leave having made connections that can last a lifetime.
How can I get involved?
We’d love this to feel like more than a ticket purchase. From the moment you book, you are part of the community conversation we are beginning to create together.
Before the day itself, we’ll be gathering expectations, sharing updates and opening up ways for you to connect with others who are coming. We’d love you to feel seen, heard and included from the start.

More about the venue
Conway Hall is a beautiful place. A Grade II listed building located in Red Lion Square, central London. Opened in 1929 and owned by the Conway Hall Ethical Society, it houses the UK's largest humanist research resource. Built by the architect Frederick Mansford, the building was named after Moncure Daniel Conway, an American abolitionist and freethinker. Since its inception, the society has championed social justice, equality and freethinking.

Where is the venue and how do I get there?
The main entrance is on Red Lion Square and features a grand Art Deco foyer facing the square directly.
Holborn Station, on the Central and Piccadilly lines, is a short 4 to 5-minute walk away. Exit the station, head north towards Fisher Street, turn right, and walk through Red Lion Square.
Bus Route 98 terminates at Red Lion Square.
What are the accessibility measures?
The main hall we are using is on the ground floor and is fully accessible, as is the café.
Wheelchair access is via a shallow ramp.
What’s included in the ticket price?
As well as a full day’s programme, light refreshments are provided. Lunch is not included, but the venue is right in the heart of Central London so it’s easy finding eateries around the venue.
What is the cancellation policy for this event?
You are entitled to a full refund if you let us know you can't make it at least 14 days before the date of the event by e-mailing us at hello@coactivecommunity.com. No refunds or rollovers to future events are available if you cancel with less than 14 days to go before the event or you are unable to make it on the day.
