Fundraising in the new normal – how to adapt and be successful

Wed 21 Apr 2021 10:15 AM - 11:45 AM BST

Online, Zoom

Description

Which fundraising income streams will perform best this year? What does the vaccine roll out mean for fundraising? Where will the opportunities be? And how can fundraising teams adapt to the challenges and opportunities and give themselves the best chance of success?

Catherine Miles has 25 years’ experience in fundraising. Formerly Fundraising Director at Anthony Nolan, Breast Cancer Now and Battersea, she now runs her own consultancy business helping charities grow their income and develop their teams. Since the start of the pandemic she has hosted networking Zoom calls with Fundraising Directors and Heads of teams sharing insight on how coronavirus has impacted on fundraising and what has been working. This insight will feed into this training session.

What this course will cover

This 90 minute interactive online training session will share insight from conversations with over 60 charities on how each fundraising income stream is likely to perform this year, and what impact the vaccine roll out will have on fundraising. The session will share case studies of fundraising successes, and give practical advice on how charities can adapt their fundraising programmes to be successful. The course will cover how to maximise new opportunities such as virtual events; how to bring on board new supporters; and how to maintain relationships with warm supporters during pandemic restrictions.

Who this course is for

The session is relevant for fundraisers working across all income streams. The session focuses in particular on Community, Events, Mass Participation, Major Donors, Trusts and Corporate. The session will include case study examples and tips from both national and locally-based charities so is relevant for sole Fundraisers or those working in larger teams.

By the end of the course attendees will:

  • Have a clear understanding of which income streams will perform best this year
  • Have benchmark examples of how charities have adapted to coronavirus
  • Have practical tips and ideas on how their charity could adapt to take advantage of fundraising opportunities in the new normal
  • Have had an opportunity to network with other course attendees

The course lasts for 90 minutes and takes place live on Zoom.

We'll send you the Zoom link a day or two before the course. Delegates will receive a copy of the slides in PDF and a link to the recording and chat string.

What others say

"Many thanks for the training. It was really useful and prompted me to think of some things I hadn’t considered. Was good to see and hear from other charities too. Shared some of the ideas/tips already. It was a great session – I really enjoyed it and there have been plenty of positive comments from colleagues as well. "

"Lots of great tips and a lot of food for thought as to how we can make the most of this great opportunity to engage with our supporters."
