Announcing the 2027 UKPTS Annual Conference: Breaking the Cycle: Anger, Violence & Trauma on Monday 25 January 2027 at King’s College London (Strand Campus). It will feature expert speakers, break-out sessions, and academic posters all focused on the ways in which anger, violence and trauma present in different populations, how their complex relationships are being researched and better understood, as well as how we can intervene, and provide more effective treatment to reduce harm.
The conference will also feature a bespoke workshop on coroners’ courts delivered by experienced clinicians, researchers and legal representatives. We hope that attendees will build knowledge, skills and confidence on a topic known to provoke anxiety, even in the most experienced practitioner, and is often cloaked in mystery and myth.
It will be a day to hear about and share research and practice; learn from each other, and build networks and collaborations to support work at an individual, group, and societal level. This conference will appeal to those with both research and practice backgrounds in health, mental health, emergency response, social work and care, criminal justice, military, peace-keeping and conflict, psychology, sociology, education, law, interpersonal violence and abuse, and online harm.
