Course outline
This two-week speaking-focused Ukrainian intensive is designed to help learners strengthen their communication skills, gain confidence in conversation, and develop fluency through daily guided practice. The course is based on UIL’s Intermediate (B1) syllabus and has been adapted to suit learners with varied prior experience. The emphasis is on real-life spoken Ukrainian: expressing opinions, reacting spontaneously, discussing familiar topics, describing events, and interacting naturally in conversation.
Lessons include:
• structured speaking tasks
• pronunciation and phonetics components
• listening for meaning and detail
• vocabulary expansion through topical themes
• supported conversation in pairs and small groups
• opportunities for spontaneous dialogue
On completion of the course, participants will have strengthened their B1-level speaking skills and enhanced their confidence communicating in everyday, cultural, and social situations.
You will be taught by teachers who are highly qualified and experienced in teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language. Small online groups (up to 8 participants) will allow for maximum interaction and personalised guidance.
Who is this course for?
This intensive is suitable for learners at lower-intermediate to intermediate level who want to develop their spoken Ukrainian. You may be:
• a continuing UIL student
• someone who has studied Ukrainian elsewhere
• a learner returning after a break
• anyone wishing to improve fluency, accuracy, and confidence in conversation
If you are unsure of your level, a short placement task may be recommended.
