Everybody needs to soak it out.

The Wolf Moon Soak Circle is part of body by ululeko’s ongoing healing work rooted in Harlem and inspired by the legacy of Midwife Mama Nonkululeko. Like midwives who catch babies, we catch moments—of grief, of tenderness, of release, of return.

This gathering blends gentle movement, soaking practices, and reflective writing, held within the tradition of circle and dialogue. Our soak circles have long served new and expectant parents, young adults, and elders, offering a supportive space where Black and brown bodies can rest, reflect, and be witnessed in community.

Since 2018, our work has woven together literature, healing, and socially engaged art—through writing workshops, community check-ins, care-making, and body-based practices. Rooted in Harlem’s legacy of Black women artists, activists, and parents, we gather to tend to the ways loss, discrimination, love, and memory live in the body.

Under the Wolf Moon, we slow down and listen. We move gently. We write from sensation and story. We honor what we carry—and what we’re ready to set down.

Come as you are.
