T-masc Erotics Through the Cam Hole Screening and Workshop

Fri 11 Sep 2026 2:00 PM - 3:45 PM Stück, N1 4DW

Screening (2-3:15pm)

This film program explores the erotic through a t-masc gaze, asking how trans people can appropriate and disrupt cinematic structures to create new, hybrid forms of erotic storytelling.

Across pornography, erotic cinema, and experimental moving image, artists have long used cinematic language to articulate desire. This selection foregrounds works that push those conventions further—using text, found materials, addressing the 4th wall, and using the camera itself as tools for constructing alternative desires.

Here, the erotic is not simply represented; it is produced through the encounter between body, object, image, and gaze. Objects—and even the camera itself—become extensions of the phantom phallus, complicating the relationship between looking and being looked at, between desire and its representation. Through these gestures, the works open up new possibilities for a trans masculine* erotic cinema.

Film Program: TBA soon

Curated and hosted by Otherness Archive founder, Sweatmother

Workshop (3:30-4:30pm)

In this informal workshop, Otherness Archive creator Sweatmother will lead an open discussion and screening featuring films from Otherness Archive. The workshop will focus on the structure of film and how we, as trans people, can use the film's structure in experimental ways, in order to create new hybrid forms of erotic storytelling through the t-masc gaze.

We will focus on cinematic tools that can be used to communicate one's desire. In this selection of moving image work, the artists make particular use of text, found footage, interviews and the camera to express desire and how the camera can be an extension of the phantom limb - which we will explore collectively through the group discussion.

IMPORTANT if you reserve a ticket for the workshop you must attend the full film program as we will be speaking about the films functions during the workshops.
