The Evening's Itinerary

1. The 'Prehistory of Partition' Walking Tour: Led by Dr. Erin O'Halloran We will begin our evening on the streets of Cambridge. Dr. Erin O'Halloran (author of East of Empire) will lead a special, in-person version of the walking tour that inspired the podcast. Together, we will retrace the physical spaces and explore the lives of the student radicals, diplomats, and intellectuals whose activism in Cambridge a century ago still echoes in global geopolitics today.
2. A Bombay Speakeasy Dinner: Hosted at the Permit Room Following the tour, the conversation continues over a curated dinner at the Permit Room. Designed in the spirit of a retro 1970s Bombay speakeasy, this atmospheric setting provides the perfect backdrop to digest the afternoon's complex histories, raise a toast to the podcast launch, and enjoy a vibrant menu of food and drinks.
